THURSDAY --- NCAA Football Bonus Play
Oregon Ducks at Arizona State Sun Devils, October 18, 2012
The Pick : Oregon -9.5
Oregon will be pumped and ready to play with a sense of urgency for one of the only times all year so far. The BCS standings are finally out and it is time to start impressing people.
They have the better Offense and better Defense in my estimation and perhaps most importantly they should have the better down and distance all game long with their advantages in the running game.
Arizona State will find a few plays in the passing game and they will make a few key defensive stops at times but they are simply a notch below the talent on this Oregon team right now. Their scheme will not fool Oregon the way it confused Illinois or Colorado because the Ducks have played a lot of pass defense reps to start the year against semi-similar schemes already and have had a bye week to prepare for this.
The Ducks make a few more big plays, probably win the turnover battle because of their style of play, and control the game with their running attack. Maybe this is the game where Oregon just lays an egg, but I would be shocked if that is the case. Perhaps ASU is as good as people think their stats look but I think it has been a product of opponent and gets exposed by the Ducks. I also like the Oregon depth in comparison to that of Arizona State.
Oregon wins going away and they make a statement towards their BCS Championship goals.
